In the period of knowledge economy, many kinds of books were published, there were so many variety in bookstores. But many books could not be sold for long time in the domestic market for less advertise and other reasons. Marketing propaganda plays an important role for getting economic and social benefits. Publishing companies were searching for market blank spots and improving their market level. Some of which divided editor into engineer editor, text editor, and marketing editor. As a new type of job,marketing editor play an important part in the link of the content and market.Discussions and incentive strategies of marketing editor were essential.In this study, we made a discussion about the concepts of editor and marketing for creating a definition of marketing editor, and explained the difference between the publisher and engineer editor, which were useful for distinguishing them. Install situation of marketing editor were studied by investigating 66 state-owned enterprises and 24 private publishing companies,and researched the real ideas of marketing editor for their situations.Combining the researches in above, we formed incentive strategies for improving publishing companies.
