Cost analysis of petroleum engineering is the reference of decision-making on the planned investment and project settlement, and it is also the foundation and key of realizing cost control and project management. The decision to develop cost analysis system made by the Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Cost Management Centre is based on the following goals: to enable cost manager at all levels to master the situation of petroleum engineering cost timely and accurately, to improve the efficiency of cost management work, to adapt to need of oilfield information construction etc.The data of cost analysis system, which comes form a number of professional systems and is distributed in the oil region, possesses a great capacity. So it is very difficult for the cost center to obtain the oil source data. The traditional structure of the database system can not meet the requirements of system. In this paper, the solution for the system which based on distributed data warehouse was brought up. Data warehouse can effectively integrate multiple data sources, and be recombined according to the subject. So it is suitable to be used to support the decision-making-oriented analysis of data processing. In this paper, the basic concepts of data warehouse and related technology and methods were presented. Furthermore, we have analyzed the requirements of the system cost. Especially, we have discussed the design of the concept model, logic model and physical model. Besides, we have studied the methods for online data warehouse analysis and data excavating. This system builds global data warehouse in cost center and local data warehouse in oil region. Global data warehouse ensures the requirements of all cost data analysis by the cost manager in cost center. Local data warehouse makes the data acquisition easy by collecting data in oil region only, it is also provides an independent platform of statistical analysis for cost managers in oil region. In system implementation, ETL procedure of data in data warehouse was realized well by PL/SQL stored procedure. Using three-layer system frame, in which Struts framework is adopted by presentation layer, Spring framework for business layer and JDBC for data layer, has not only shortened development period, but also made system maintenance easy. The Excel export and column custom technology satisfy the requirement of system front end display for users.The application of distributed data warehouse in the cost distribution system meets the requirement of administrators for different levels. On the other hand, it supplies a very important reference for design of similar system.
