Locomotive monitoring system is composed of locomotive control center, obturation device, on-train speed control devieces and so on, which is used to control the speed of locomotive to ensure the security and enhance the ability of transport. The locomotive has a high demand on the security and credibility, as a result the demand on the locomotive monitoring device is significant, too.This paper is mainly about the research and design of the man-machine interface part of locomotive monitoring device. Based on the summarization of the current research state of both foreign and domestic locomotive monitoring technology and speed control of monitoring device, the collectivity design scheme of man-machine interface of locomotive monitoring device is put forward.The man-machine interface part of locomotive monitoring device is a whole face to the driver, which is composed of LCD interface, keyboard interface, voice output interface, IC card interface CAN bus interace and RS-485 bus interface. The hardware design of the man-machine interface system of locomotive monitoring device is described in this paper, which is based on ARM S3C2410. Also the detail hardware and theory of the control interfaces is introduced.Afterwards, the design of software development platform is described. U-Boot1.1.5 is transplanted to the system, and the cross-compile environment is founded on the PC that is mounted Redhat9.0 system. After the transplantation of bootloader, the embedded system that based on Linux-2.6.18 is designed.At last, the sorts and composing of Linux driver are analysed in this paper. All the driever program design of each part of the interfaces ,which supply the software interface to the hardware control ,is introduced in detail. For the demand of the system design, the graphic interface based on MiniGUI is transplanted. The software of man-machine interface system which is based on MiniGUI completes control mission by way of calling the driver program. This method that separats the applying program and hardware, can enhace the stability, security and transplantlity of system.
