In recent years, as the high speed railway business of our country develops quickly, the requirements for function and reliability of safe monitor device on locomotive are higher and higher. LKJ2000is a device used to keep the train safe and to record data, it has magnificent effect on reducing train accidents while running and advancing train management. However, as electronic technique improves and railway department asks for higher security level, the original human machine interface system based on X86can not satisfy the needs very well. Hence, on the purpose of fixing the defect of display system, it is necessary to develop a new locomotive monitoring display system. And continuously developed MCU technique, embedded operating system and manufacturing craft guarantee the technique for it.Firstly, this thesis introduces the situation of international and national locomotive monitor system, compares the differences of locomotive monitor system between national and international level, analyses the defect of the original monitor display system which is based on X86architecture, present situation and development trend of embedded system, and the technology advantage of PowerPC and feasibility of researching new system. Secondly, according to the growing demands for security, stability of the present railway operating, this thesis designs a new locomotive monitoring display system based on PowerPC processor, using MPC5121as the MCU and Linux2.6.24as the operating system. Finally this thesis accomplishes the hardware design, and embedded Linux system porting and device driver porting, and this thesis improves the deficiency of the locomotive monitoring display system based on X86.After the prototype machine is produced, in accordance with the requirement index of railway product, the article do experiments to this system on high and low temperature, EMC and isolating and vibration, which concludes that the locomotive monitoring display system based on PowerPC is reliable, can efficiently improve locomotive monitoring management and human machine manipulation.
