The Research And Construction Of Integrated Circuit Macromodel

With the development of the VLSI technology, more and more commercial integrated circuits are available. The circuit designers face a problem of how to simulate the designed circuit embedded with integrated circuits. Integrated circuit macromodel can be used to solve such problems, reduce the amount of data processing, and performing the simulation in the existing computer software and hardware level.In this thesis, the marcomodel construction method of integrated circuit is concerned. First, the maromodels of some common analog or digital-analog mixed circuits, including ideal electronic switching circuit, the voltage comparator, the Schmitt trigger, the pulse width modulation circuit, the A/D switching circuit are introduced.Second, according to these models, the macromodel of DC/DC switching power supply chip, TPS40054, produced by TI Corporation, is built-up and simulated by Pspice by means of Simplification and Build-up methods. The simulation results of each function module are obtained. Based on the simulation results, the macromodel is examined and optimized, the convergence problem occurred during the simulation of the macromodel is discussed.For digital integrated circuit, the behavioral modeling of one DDS system which is based on the pipeline, is used as an example. The application of Verilog hardware design language in the macromodel construction is presented. Finally, considering the SOC system coordination simulation, the data interface between Pspice programming language and other languages is discussed.The modeling constructing steps are given in this dissertation, such as circuit simplification, electrical characteristic abstraction, as well as Pspice software programming. A good example of the digital-analog mixed integrated circuit chip macromodel construction is provided. The function modules built here are also available for other chips by some modifications.
