As reform of electric power system advancing day by day, a fair and ordered competing environment in power market is needed. Power enterprise is facing an unprecedented competing situation. The building of enterprise informationization is also concerned important. However, the informationization application systems presently used by many power plants were built in different period according to different requirements. There's no uniform power planning or modeling standard. Information models was built independently, which leads to the existence of a great many "single island automation system", causing a lot of problems such as information cannot be shared between systems, application systems cannot be upgraded, conformity between systems cannot be made, etc. That has greatly obstructed the progress of Informationization in the power enterprises.Therefore, to make progress of Informationization in the power enterprises and realize the share of information and functions between systems of power plants ,the conformity of application systems developed independently, and the communication between systems within and without the plants, the following steps has to be taken: firstly, there should be an uniform description standard of power plants resources information, that is to realize data integration; then the integration of application should be achieved; at last, a uniform information platform is made to thoroughly solve the problem of single island automation system.Concerning the problems in the uniform description of information, this paper analyzed the CIM on power grid information model standard of IEC61970 and IEC61968. A general power plant resource information model is built according to the plant's own characteristics. This model classifies and abstracts the resources in power plants using object-oriented method, with UML and Rational Rose modeling tool.Power plant is a typical asset-intensive enterprise. A lot of assets are equipments. The key to resource modeling is equipment modeling. There are many kinds of equipments, and there's no uniform standard of classification. Therefore, this paper make classification principles according to equipment classification code KKS, which prevails domestically. Equipment classification model is built by the principles and the whole system is divided to several parts, whose own class programs are been drawn. Beside, other resources such as plant buildings are also modeled.This paper orients thermal power plant, but the objects described in the models are abstract. So they can be applied not only to the thermal power plant, but also to an expanded area. The last of the paper makes a prospect of apply the model to the integration of power enterprise application systems.
