The Knowledge Management System And Application Study Of College Libraries

The 21st century is an era of knowledge economy with the rapid development of Information technology. Knowledge management is a new manage model in the age of knowledge economy. Domestic and international libraries and informatics attach great importance to the application of knowledge management in library science area. Knowledge management system is the important content of knowledge management, which means to promote the application and accelerate the implementation of knowledge management with technology. The research of knowledge management by domestic Library science and informatics began at the year of 1998 and the primal articles are confined to the introduction of the overseas idea of knowledge management. Theoretical research of knowledge management began from the year of 1999 and enterprise knowledge management research became popular in the year 2000. After 2001, when many articles began to explore the library knowledge management, the theoretical research and applied research of knowledge management developed coordinately, and the content also changed from\from the macro research into the micro research.College libraries are typical knowledge-based organizations, Documentation and Information Centers of colleges and universities, and important base of the information technology of colleges and society. The people they serve for are the readers with higher knowledge level and higher information awareness. Their main task is to collect and rearrange all types of materials for teaching and researching. The higher the level of the development of information development, the richer knowledge it contents. It will be of great significance to enhance the quality and efficiency of the service of college library if we can take good use of college Libraries' advantages and establish a applicable knowledge management system with the help of the concept and technology of knowledge management to promote the implementation of knowledge management, actively help readers access to the latest scientific and technical information, and provide a information guarantee for the knowledge innovation.The main purpose of this study is to establish a knowledge management system of college library through the combination of different types, numbers, kinds and other unique advantages of college library resources. Adopting the methods of literary review, summarization and comparison, combination of theories and practices, the thesis also comprehensively uses the concepts and theories of library science, management, computer science etc. With a focus of the knowledge management system, the thesis introduces its content, model and functions, and clarifies the relationship between knowledge management system and knowledge management—Knowledge Management System is the guarantee of the implementation of knowledge management, and explains in detail present situation of domestic and international knowledge management systems. On this basis, taking college libraries as the object of study, the thesis analyzes the necessity and feasibility of the construction of a knowledge management system in college libraries. Then build a common knowledge management System for college libraries. It mainly provides a detailed presentation of five aspects of the knowledge management system--the basic principles of building the system, the system module structure, the key techniques used in the system, the objects and the functions of the system, and the noteworthy problems in the construction of the system. The precondition of the thesis is the close combination of theories and practices. On the basis of the above theory studies, taking the library of Shandong University as the object of the applied research, the thesis conducts a comprehensive overview of the present knowledge resources of the Library of Shandong University, designs a knowledge management system suitable for the library and explores the way of knowledge management. The project clarifies and focuses on the components and functions of the modules of library knowledge management system, hoping the college library knowledge management system designed in the thesis could offer some guidance and references to the libraries of other colleges and universities in their implementation of knowledge management on the basis of the knowledge management system.
