This paper constructs a mechanism of the subject service in university libraries by exploring the knowledge management (KM) which used in the subject service model in university libraries. The relationship between KM and library is very close and supplement. By using KM in the college library can promote the innovation of college library management. Such as The center of the work transfer from document management to knowledge management, the organizational structure transfer from the past vertical management to the matrix management, etc. The library subject service is a new subject of library science. It is the measure of Conforming to the development of the age and keeping the status of library under the era of knowledge-driven economy. By combining Knowledge Management in subject service of college library, the library uses the scientific managerial method on "knowledge assets"; the library uses the transformation to take knowledge innovation, between the explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge, to enrich "knowledge base". KM also uses the scientific managerial method to supervise the other resources of subject, including organizations, services, librarians etc.This paper constitutes by five parts: first, the analysis of the domestic and foreign subject service status quo; second, the analysis of the situation of the subject service in university libraries; third, the implement of KM in the subject service in university libraries; forth, the analysis of the subject service model in university libraries which based on the KM; fifth, the construction of the subject service mechanism that based on the KM. The basis of subject service mechanism is the goal of subject service, the knowledge asserts of subject service, the innovation of subject service knowledge, the platform of the subject service. The mechanism of subject service concludes the goal, the principles, the concrete proposals, the implement of the proposals, and the assessment.This article attempts to use the connotation of knowledge management to analyze the elements of subject service management mechanism, then build the college subject service management mechanism. I hope this management mechanism can have little affection on the construction of subject service.
