Designing And Developing Of The Control Program Of The Mobile Terminal Based On GPRS

The vehicle location system is wide used and the mobile terminal is the important part of it. It has two important technics: communication and location. The rapid development of computer technology and communication technology solve the communication problem and American's GPS provide the global user a cheap and convenient method of location.How to use these techniques to developing vehicle location system is a valueable question.The author implemented a terminal which supports both SMS and GPRS. The terminal receives the request of the terminal's location by GSM module, under the control of ARM, the it terminal gets GPS information via GPS module and then sends the GPS information back to requester using either SMS or GPRS. While the terminal supports sleep mode.By this way the system reduces Energy consumption and improves the robusticity of the control program greatly. In order to using GPRS, the author implemented a thin client of TCP/IP stack based on GPRS. It is simplified from the normal TCP/IP stack, so it adapts to the embedded applications.This system exploits a lot of morden communication techniques.It's very adaptive and smart. Moreover, the mobile terminal in this article can not only provide location information for vehicle but also can provide location information for others.
