In recent years, economics public intellectuals have become a widely influential group, whose influence forming has a close relation to the mass media. Based on the analysis of the reports about economics public intellectuals in economic newspapers, the author finds that the existence of economics public intellectuals is a process of popularization made by the media, while it has a symbiotic relation to the mass media .The symbiosis means complementing and mutually needing each other. Meanwhile,the relevant reports about economics public intellectuals in economic newspaper show significant negative trends.Through the analysis of the competition between Mr.Lang and Mr.Gu,the paper could conclude some media rules that may cause the results of some negative reports. The paper further pointed out the difficulties of media that economics public intellectuals are facing, then make some suggestions about how to build good public space between economics public intellectuals and the mass media.
