Public Intellectuals, The Media Expression

In recent years "Intellectuals" or "public intellectuals" as the borrowed words, has taken an important role in the Chinese media. Putting aside the original meaning of this word, it at least means enlighten the public and guard the honest.Meanwhile, in the period of Web2.0, public intellectuals are more active in the media field. As the successor of culture and the undertaker of social justice, they use their professional knowledge to comment the issues of politics, economy, culture, public events of the society under the help of mass media. Most of their points influence the development of the social events and progress of the social civilization.Based on the study of news commentaries on the "China Youth Daily· Youth Topics" in2005^2008and2011, author uses content analysis as the main research methods. Then classifies the contents and analyzes the impact of the commentaries. The aim of this essay is to find how to build a harmonious relationship between public intellectuals and the media, then to create a healthy public environment.
