Radar is Radio Detection and Ranging. It is called marine navigation Radar when Radar installed on ship. It can use as tranffic avoidance, ship positioning and pilotage. Navigation radar provides necessary means of observation for mariners when bad visibility, it is indispensable system in ship postioning and prevent accident. It can accurately capture others ships, land, sea routes and objects information, and to show the screen.This paper is mainly about navigation radar system. Three parts are included in the paper as follows:At first, the paper introduces theconception, principle, composition and application of radar.And a detailed description of the development, working principle and characteristics of marine navigation Radar.Then according to the basic principle of radar and characteristics of marine navigation radar.We designed the marine navigation radarsystem based on FPGA, ARM and DSP, and use the DDR SDRAM. FPGA, ARM and DSP are High-speed digital signal processing chips.They are able to meet the marine navigation radar system requirements.Last according to the principle of VGA display and the principle of superposition on Radar images, the VGA Radar images can realized based FPGA.In the end,The system get the Radar images. The system is designed to meet the requirements of marine navigation Radar.
