With the development of computer and network technology, VTS is growing towards digitalization. As a result, the system of which the VTS radar is the core has become more and more powerfully functional. To some degree, the reliability of the VTS radar is less than that of the marine radar. Thus we should introduce the question of reconstruct marine navigational radar for VTS for the security and the cost performance.The purpose is to figure out a way to replace the marine radar with the VTS radar, mainly through the comparison research on the structural differences between the marine radar and the VTS. The differences are on there aspects, which are, high resolution antenna, the structure of the double transceiver and the function of remote control and telemetry.The problems confronted when replacing the high resolution antenna, involves such as whether the driver of the radar is matching, and whether the radar HD and BP signal matches the radar ARPA or not. How to solve those problems is discussed in chapter two.Unlike the marine radar which is with single transceiver, the VTS radar is with double transceiver which works in turn. So chapter three focus on how to add another transceiver, how to shift and control the two transceivers both in local and remote monitor room, and how to make the two transceivers share one APRA.Among the differences, the difference of the function of remote control and telemetry can be the most distinguished one. The place that the traffic control radar is equipped, determines that this kind of radar can not live without the function of remote control and telemetry. Analyzing all kinds of the control signals, distance transporting and recovering the all keyboard signal after the analysis can be found in chapter four.The way discussed in this paper has been put into use in the project of the collision preventation system in North Changshan VTS center and Jingzhou Bridge. The system now is running normal and stable.
