Faced to the public,science communication aims at meeting their knowledge demands and raising their science literacy.As an important carrier of science communication,it is of great importance for scientific and educational TV programs to attract audiences in new media era.Television can be entertaining and informative.Therefore,it is a great way to do science communication by using television in an entertaining way.New programs like Cheers Science,Super Brain,Man VS Machine,package science with entertainment to teach with fun.Taking scientific and educational TV program as research objects,this article tries to reveal the characteristics of science knowledge and the entertaining methods with the theory of entertainment education.By analyzing and concluding from Cheers Science,the paper is aiming at extending entertainment education theory to assist the development of scientific and educational TV programs.Through literature review,case study and semi-structure interview,the author found that,scientific and educational TV programs tend to spread more science knowledge than science methods,spirits and thoughts.The entertainment elements used in the program are science,celebrities,TV signs,ritualization,game and interactions.However,some of the methods are not that perfect.For example,sections are repeating.Interactions are not that well.In fact,scientific and educational TV programs fusing with entertainment is the practice of entertainment education.The proper use of entertainment with science TV programs can be very influential in science communication.
