With the rapid development of optical communications technology, the request to modulation technology of the high-power semiconductor laser becomes more and more higher. And the modulation source is the key to the transmitting device in the optical communications system, which produce optical carrier optical to the optical communication system. Its characteristics have a direct impact on the performance of communications systems.The subject is researched on modulation source of the high-power LD. In the face of the modulation source is inefficiency and large in the optical communication, it give a way to solve the problem. At the same time, based on theoretical analysis and research of key technologies in direct laser modulation technology, it gives a suitable coding schemes for the subject. Finally, the simulation experiment is done to the direct modulation source with the ORCAD software. It provides a technical support for the laser weaponry and optical communications applying directly.
