Large power semiconductor direct modulation technique plays a key role in in laser scanning, laser ranging and laser communication, the result of the modulation effects direct relates to the the semiconductor laser and modulation techniques. the study of high power semiconductor laser modulation technique is of great significance.This paper has research the effect of the center wavelength, collimation,spectral characteristics and temperature effect of the semiconductor laser to Direct modulation base on the systematic analysis of the semiconductor laser’s working principle and input current characteristics. Then we have made the choose of the direct modulation Large power semiconductor according to it.We make the research of the Direct modulation technique for the selected semiconductor laser and Explorate the effect of the increasing of the laser, the increasing of the semiconductor laser output intensity, the reducing of the photon lifetime and the increasing of the differential gain et al. to the Direct modulation. we Establish the direct drive circuit model by the Use of OrCAD software and explore the possibility of the driving of the semiconductor laser after the direct modulation when the output waveform is a sine wave or square wave. We further build experimental platform according to the simulation results, and research the impact of the chirp effect of loss of the waveform produiced by the photoelectric conversion. Finally, we analysis reason that affect the output of the semiconductor laser base on the analysis and comparison of experimental results.
