Following the development of the times, the acquisition and processing of digital image signal are used widely in the fields of scientific research, industrial and agricultural production, medicine and sanitation, public security and so on.And these works can't be completed without a set of high-speed digital image acquisition system. Meanwhile image acquisition is the basis of image processing, compressing and recognizing, so the research on image acquisition system is very important and valuable. Now, many image collector transfer inamge data to a computer through the computer interface, accomplish their work with the help of high computing speed and large storage capacity of the computer. Traditional computer interface wasexpensive and discommodious in image data transmission. This dissertation proposes a method to build an image acquisition system with USB2.0 interface.So the Design of High-Speed Digital Image Acquisition and Transmission System Based on OV7640 is researched and designed.And capturing image,Proce -ssing image and transferring image are main functions of the system.The CMOS image sensor OV7640 captures image which is controled by EPM7128SLC84-10.At last,the image is transferred by EZ-USB CY7C68013 to the computer.The research is to design a high-speed image acquisition system acquiring and processing image data, and then transferring the data to computer by USB2.0 interface, to display and store the data on computer. The hardware circuit of the system was designed and PCB board was produced. The software of the card was developed too. The image acquisition system contains the following three parts: CMOS image sensor circuit, CPLD control circuit and data transferring part based on USB 2.0 interface.For the hardware circuit design, the conceptual scheme of image data acquisition system was proposed,and then the principle of image acquisition system was demonstrated. Lastly, it's expatiated that the main chips used in the acquisition system,the main modules of hardware circuit and the PCB design etc.For the software design, the development of USB Video Class standard video driver in the acquisition system was introduced,and designing CPLD program to control image data transferring. At the same time, the design scheme of CY7C68013's firmware was given. And the firmware was developed. It's discussed based on firmware design that the design method, developing structure, main program, initial function, and endpoint configure of CY7C68013 firmware program.
