With the develpment of digital image processing, it is more and more important for researching image acquisition, processing real-time implementation.. This paper designed an image collection and processing system and proposed a system solution by two technologies: the digital signal processing technology and EDA technology. Digtal image compressing can reduce image data and conveniently process image by transfer, storage and processing. It is important to realize a real-time image compress system. DSP is used in real-time processing and portable applications with special hardware structure. DSP with high processing speed and excellent operation performance is particularly adapted to image processing. EDA has been a basic embranchment in ASIC technology. Owing to the advantages of itself, EDA technology is more and more important in the modern electronic system designs.Firstly, this paper detailed analysis's structural characteristics of TMS320VC5416. Then we conduct a more in-depth discussion TMS320VC5416DSP + CPLD to the core to build digital image acquisition system platform. We also study the methods for the hardware platform circuit design which includes DSP core circuit, memory expansion circuit and video capture card interface circuit. We make detailed analysis and discussion for the main principle of circuit module, timing analysis and calculation and PCB board involved in the development of anti-electromagnetic interference technology. All the system hardware design is given in this paper. We develop the system's underlying software and development of a platform.In DSP-based video capture system, it usually uses SCM coprocessor to reduce costs and complexity of hardware. Through timing analysis and calculation, we select CPLD high-speed chip interconnection to achieve different parts of the system coordination. On the one hand, the paper introduces in detail the working principle of main modules and circuit design. On the other hand, the paper discusses the problems in design of PCB board for electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility issues.In order to meet the requirements of portable real-time processing system, we use the following methods: (1) multiple hardware circuit power supply, low voltage reduction, increased detection circuit. (2) multi-use PCB design, reducing the size of the system also guarantee system stability. (3) in accordance with the requirements of software engineering analysis and planning system block diagram, process analysis, module division. This design reduces the relevance of different modules and avoids the occurrence of errors.Results of the experiment of platform show that collected image data is accurate and image displayed clear. It proves the effectiveness and practical value of the system.
