As international communication steps into the age of global communication interacting with high-speed technical renovation and information flows, we are more and more concerned about the results occurred already or any possible outcomes from it. Cultural infiltration, the final goal of cultural imperialism, has been a widely-acknowledged agreement within the academics home or abroad under unremitting researches and discussions.As a matter of fact, cultural infiltration, the expression itself is not simply a derogatory term but a complicated conception in different aspects and views. To meet the objective academic research standards and the practical research need at present, we shall take this expression just as a neutral term. To study the features of television which is the most important media channel of cultural infiltration can help us to see and follow the track left behind the interacting development of media culture and the culture of different nations. Meanwhile, how to reinforce the charm and infiltration of Chinese culture is, of course, another important issue in the relevant researches.Concerning the relevant theories and practices, this paper will try to illustrate what roles media have performed in global cultural communication from the views of news communication, politics, economics and sociology. (Chapter 1) Firstly, the logic start point of this paper will be introduced (to give the concept a complete content) . Cultural infiltration, as a concept in cultural and journalistic studies is only a neutral term in the studies on international cultural communication. (Chapter 2) This chapter will introduce the global background and social cultural influences with which cultural infiltration comes into being. (Chapter 3) Based on the theoretic studies, this chapter will focus on television, the media environment, and analyze the phenomenon of cultural infiltration in Chinese television programs with cases studies. (Chapter 4) Based on the microcosmic research level, this chapter will try to re-think and explore the meaning of cultural infiltration. Finally, this paper will bring forward some views on how to reinforce the agreement on Chinese culture, and introduce the status and the strategies about Chinese cultural communication in the world.
