China's Image Constructing By Chinese International Broadcast

Combining the theories of international politics and international communication as well as anglicizing the practice of China Radio International, this article explores the strategy to construct the national image through the way of international broadcast. It finally aims at taking advantage of the international radio to set up China's great national image which is peacefully rising and full-responsible.China's rising brings impact on the existed pattern of the international relationships, which has made China's national image dislocated in world society. Because a nation's image is the result of the struggle between the domestic media and foreign media, it is pressing terribly to resolve the problem that how to confront with the negative reports on China's image from overseas to module a positive image of China taking use of the international communication. Analyzing the plenty of practice in China Radio International, this paper focuses on the suspect of strategy including balancing report, arranging schedule, interviewing abroad, stressing opinions and improving stereo, etc.The introduction discusses the practical significance and situation to construct China's national image by the media, and puts forward to take the international broadcast as an effective method to construct the nation image.The second part mainly discusses the structure and importance of the nation image. Regarding the concept of the nation image, it starts with the structure of the nation image instead of sticking to its definition. Besides, it proves the outstanding meaning of nation image for a nation competition, and stresses the urgency to build the nation image.The third part explains how the international propagation build nation image, discusses the reasons that dislocate China's national image, finds the methods to solve it, and promotes China's national image through politically, economically, militarily, and culturally international communication.The fourth part studies the unique role which the international radio plays in constructing nation image, that is to play fully its specialties such as convenience, sound characteristic, multi-languages broadcasting and so on. At the same time, it states that the instantaneity of international radio brings barriers to nation image building and how to handle them.The fifth part is the key to the whole article, concentrates on the strategy including the report methods of balancing report, planning large-size report, and exclusive interview, cultural spread; and the report ways of tape-recorded report, tape-recorded news and tape-recorded exclusive interview; and the technological methods of reporting oversea and broadcast on-line. All of these strategies contribute to building China's peaceful rising image in the world.The conclusion part forecasts the development orientation of international radio in the aspect of building nation image. Theory and practice should be united together and different broadcasting programs should be made according to different languages and countries, which will be the core study for the circle of international broadcast in the future.
