Application Of Grid Technology In Construction Of Digital Library

Grid is a kind of advanced information technology and is the development trend of distributed computing and Internet. Grid emphasizes resource sharing and application, which is closely related with the function of digital library. Grid Technology brings a better chance for the digital library, will help digital library improve the service level and service efficiency.This paper introduces the concept of grid technology, key technologies and key problems to be solved. It also researches the worldwide research progress of grid technology, through which to learn some experiences about the construction of grid.The combination of grid with digital library is the emphasis of this paper. It introduces the characteristics of grid consistent with the digital library, and the influence of grid upon digital library. Furthermore, It discusses the application of grid technology in the construction of digital library with some examples.This paper mainly discusses the integrated search system, which can perform cross-database search covering the PCT minimum documentation. At present the system is completed and open to users freely.Finally this paper puts forward we should pay attention to the latest development of grid technology and apply the theory to practice in digital library.
