Research On The Information Resources Sharing In Vietnam Digital Libraries

Along with the rapid development of the computer and network technology and the arrival of the information society, the library industry is facing challenges from all aspects, such as information explosion, reform of information and communication technology, daily increasing of users’demands on information, changes in both quality and quantity of information, daily shrinking of state budget fund for the library system and the rise of digital resources price, etc. To cope with these challenges, the National Library of Vietnam tried the sharing of digital library information resources as an effective solution. In this context,-this paper had on one hand affirmed the strategic significance of information resources sharing of digital library in the stage when our country (Vietnam) is joining the world, and on the other hand, this paper had, from the perspective of an overseas student, together with thoughts developed in the work, study and communication on the digital library sharing in the context of Chinese cultural environment and by the way of case study, summarized the current situation and difficulties of information resources sharing in Vietnam and brought forward with corresponding solutions, with the hope that such solutions can be applied in the construction of the Vietnam’s digital library and the sharing of digital information resources.This paper consists of the introduction, the conclusion and the body made of six chapters.1. The "Introduction":Mainly introduced the theoretical and practice significance of the subject, current situation of researches at home and abroad, methods of research and main points of innovation, etc;2. "Vietnam’s digital library information resources sharing practical basis" mainly includes:an overview of digital library information resources, features ofVietnam digital library information resources as well as their importance, the practice of building digital resources, digital information resources policy practices, resources cataloging standards and creating meta data and digital library information resources management practices;3."Vietnam’s digital library information resources sharing theory basis" mainly includes:concepts of information resources sharing and values of information resources sharing;4. "Vietnam’s digital library information resources sharing Challenge" mainly includes:information resources sharing of Vietnam domestic and international, information resource sharing guarantee as well as thecopyright oflibrary services in Vietnam;5."Factors impacting Vietnamese Digital Library Information Resources Sharing" mainly includes:legal documents, digital resources management, information resources sharing equipment, human resources, and storage resources and providing digital resource services;6. "Improve of the efficiency of Vietnam digital library information resources sharing path" mainly includes:the improvement and development of policy for digital libraries’sharing information resources in Vietnam, focusing on the development of human resources in digital information resources sharing, improving the communication technological infrastructure, developingthe digital information resources, focusing on the development of the national security of digital information resources and strengthening the management of Vietnam’s digital library information resources.7. The Conclusions and Expectations:Conclusions, main contribution and deficiencies of this paper were drawn. Expectations on the researches in the future were released too.
