Multimedia Search Engine Design Based On Grid Enviroment

Digital Liabrary is very important nowadays. But it is not convenient by Internet because the libraries are distributed and the search engine does not support multimedia query. We use grid and multimedia database to solve the two problems.We review the priciple of multimedia database and prove the feasibility of designing a multimedia database by PostgreSQL in the beginning of this paper.Then, we give the principle of grid. And in the third chapter the grid middleware—globus is introduced. In chapter 4, Web Service and OGSA are introduced. In the following chapter, we talk about the importance of digital library. At last, we present a multimedia search design based on grid enviroment.We conclude that the grid is useful and will convenient to all.
