Construction And Design Of Virtual Test System

A virtual instrument consists of a computer equipped with application software, modularization hardware, and driver software, which together perform the functions of traditional instruments. Because the principal task of constructing test system based on virtual instrument was designing the test application according to test assignment,it required that the users could not only operate the test instruments but also design the test application which increased difficulty for the common users. At the same time, a lot of test systems based on virtual instrument came into being accompanying with the development and standardization of its hardware and software, which make a great trouble for the users to choose and manage them conveniently. Therefore, the idea of"Virtual Test System"was firstly put forward in this paper, which was used to manage the virtual instruments, construct the test system, and further implement the test assignment. The main contents were listed as follows.First, put forward an idea of"Virtual Test System". The user just need to click the mouse to choose the suitable virtual instruments, connect them, activate the test system, and then carry on the test assignment without designing any test application, which realized the effective management and construction to the virtual instruments.Second, the prototype of the virtual test system was designed through contrasting their configurations and operating modes of the conventional test system and the virtual instrument test system according to the idea mentioned above.Finally, the test application of this virtual test system was designed in LabVIEW, which includes virtual instrument library, instrument connecting platform, control part and extending signal call-back system.
