Since carrying out the tactic of "the institution with commercialized management" and the reform-open policy that started from 1978, China's media industry has very many attempts in its commercial administration. The television industry also gradually goes out from government's assistant, to struggle the tide of market economy. Enter into the 90's, specially the new century, kinds of competition that China's television industry faces more and more intense. In order to win the competition, the cultivation of core competence of television industry is raised the agenda."Core competence" is a glossary that frequently appears in the business management research works, with the development of its market operation. Which is introduced the domain of television research. Based on this, the article has introduced price leading theory and the consumer behavior theory in the economic, and utilizes these two theories in the whole discussion process. Core competitive ability of television media includes such essential factors as brand, talented person, industrial chain, capital operation, and making the television brand is the basic way to enhance the television audience rating, and the industrial chain and the capital operation is the effective way to strengthen the television industry core competitive ability, and the high quality talented person is the only way which guarantees them to be able to realize. At present the pattern that our country television industry makes respective core competitive can be summarized for following three kinds: Entertainment pattern, film and teleplay pattern, livelihood of the people pattern. When analyzing these patterns, the concrete operation way of some extremely representative television stations have been deeply anatomized, so the readers can understand these patterns clearly.The television is the most popular media at present in China. Under the trend of economical globalization, it is the urgent matter to enhance its core competitive ability. There are three ways to enhance our country are following: unceasingly innovates, the image molds, continues to study.
