| In recent years,with the characteristics of pervasion,intelligence and perception,the internet of things has been growing fast and becomes the third wave of world's information industry development followed by computer and internet.In 2009,IBM first proposed the concept of 'smarter planet',after which appears the concepts such as 'smarter city','smarter enterprise','smarter community' and also 'smarter library'.As a new shape of library's development,smarter library,combining with various technologies and methods like the internet of things technology,the big data technology,the cloud computing technology and the mobile internet on the basis of present mature industrial automation,digital and application of intelligent systems,is a more advantaged stage of digital library.Smarter library has changed its hardware and user needs and so forth to face with the new information and technology environment.Making a comprehensive survey of domestic and oversea current situation,we found that the research of smarter library for the most part have concentrated on theory,technology and practice instead of researching librarians.Actually,as the inexhaustible intelligent source of library development,librarians are the most fundamental elements of library and also the core driving force promoting library's sustainable development.As a consequence,based on the scientific description of smarter library's essential features,this paper conducts an empirical research on three universities in various levels and types to study their librarians,mainly to construct core competence index system of librarians in smarter library environment so as to provide experiences and strategic references of library human resource study in smarter library environment.Firstly,this paper describes the research status of smarter library national and abroad,including several aspects such as conceptual description,technological application,practical exploration and so on and also elaborates the connotation,characteristics and elements of smarter library.Meanwhile it expounds the interrelated theories of librarians about human resource and service transformation mode of library.Additionally,1219 bachelor and master students of a '985 Project' university,a '211 Project' university and an ordinary university in Nanjing have been investigated about smart library.According to the survey,student users know little about smarter library and most of their intelligent demands and services of library primarily focus on learning knowledge.For example,they need library to offer literature related to courses or provide services workflow involved in research and academic writing.Secondly,based on the previous literature review and theoretical explanation,this paper sets up and index system of librarians' core competence in smarter library context and modifies it with Delphi method.Thirdly,the theoretical mode is empirically assessed by choosing 102 librarians as respondents,aiming at inspecting their cognition of smarter library.The study invests the pre-judging of librarians on librarians' core competence in smarter library environment so as to predict what the core competence future librarians should possess.The result shows that recently librarians can accept new information easily,but have less awareness about smarter library.At the same time,all of them hold a positive attitude towards the core competence which librarians have to possess in the future.After sorting and analyzing the research data,this paper asks for experts' advice on empirical study results.Lastly,in view of theoretical expound and empirical analysis,this paper puts forward relative countermeasures:1)set the departments and positions reasonably;2)improve the access mechanism;3)launch targeted training for librarians.In addition,on aspect of human resource,it proposes suggestions and measures about librarians' core competence construction in order to provide kinds of reference to future libraries in these areas. |
