Research On Evaluation Of The Core Competence Of Qingdao Press

After our country entered World Trade Organization (WTO),great changes will take place in economy construction, social development and people living of our country. The publishing industry in our country will be faced with strong competition and how to improve the core competence of publishing industry is an important problem of every press. This thesis studies core competence evaluation system of the Qingdao Press on the background.In the first place, the thesis introduces the essential concept of core competence and sums up theory and application study on core competence. In allusion to the character of publishing house, the press core competence and its composing factors are put forward. Secondly according to the character of Qingdao Press and the oriented, scientific, feasible, fluctuant, quantitative and qualitative principle, Qingdao Press core competence evaluation model and evaluation index system are brought forward. The index system consists of twelve first-rank evaluation indexes. The entire first-rank indexes contain seventy-six second-rank indexes. Principal component analysis is an important analysis method in the multianalysis. This method can solve correlative indexes problem by decreasing dimensions and getting several comprehensive factors. Using the principal component analysis and the data of Qingdao Press from 2000 to 2005, the thesis analyses the key factors influencing the core competence of Qingdao Press and thinks that the core competence of Qingdao Press should be the integrative result of various aspect ability of Qingdao Press and has the aggregative character and is a kind of general ability. This ability is the combination of internal capability of every department and covers publication activity each link. Finally, according to the evaluation result, the thesis puts forward policy advice improving the core competence of Qingdao Press from the six aspects, which are publishing selection, trademark building, distribution network, publishing person with ability, management mechanism, culture conception.
