EDMS Based On Small And Medium-sized Enterprise

Along with the wide application of CAD/CAM technology in enterprise day by day, the enterprise gradually accumulated massive technical data, such as blueprints, documents, and other electronic chart files. These are main information on enterprise products'design; they are also the foundation of product data management (PDM). However the management and maintenance for these electronic materials have taken the massive space and human resources. Moreover, the design material has lower availability; it is hard to avoid the duplicate designs. People eagerly hope to manage them with the aid of the software, which can conveniently search the material. The CAD questions above have exposed the contradiction between development of CAD and backwardness of data management .The solution is to use product data management.PDM is a new management thought and technique. It can be defined as the technology, which is based on software technique, regards product as the core, and realizes whole management on the related data, process, and resources in product. Relying on the IT, it is a valid and optimized management method in enterprises, and is an outcome of the combination of scientific management frame and realistic problem in enterprises. It is also a kind of product combining computer technology with corporate culture.This paper described the development, process, function and their characteristics of engineering document management system based on the situation of blueprint management, analyzed comprehensively their demand, proposed the overall design, and used the VC development kit and ADO to visit the ACCESS and SQL database. Besides the blueprint establishment, the paper had also considered the system security problems; it had established the effective function module of user privilege management.
