The centralized control station' s environmental monitoring developsrapidly in the recent years, with a growing concern with operation, management, scientific research and project technology department inPower Energy System. Its development and use exert a vital significanceon the Power Energy System's safe operation. Along with thedevelopment of sensor technology, computer technology, communicationstechnology, intelligent technology and environmental monitoring, moreand more new technologies will be applied to the monitoring. It can bepredicted that the environmental monitoring will become an integral partof Power Energy System. Meanwhile, environmental monitoring will offera huge market. Research and development of environmental monitoringsystems have tremendous economic and social benefits.This paper, based on the application of Environmental MonitoringSystem in Xiandu 220 kV substation's centralized control station inLishui, Zhejiang Province, aims to introduce a computer room'senvironment monitoring system that has high-performance embeddedmicroprocessors based on ARM core. This article describes the system'sprinciples, constitution and its advantages in detail, with a focus on theanalysis of the embedded system's hardware design principles groundedupon PHILIPS Corporation's 32-bit embedded microprocessor (LPC2214). It also produces the hardware principles diagram and takes a systematicand detailed description of the system's correlative software.
