TD-SCDMA officially released by ITU, is one of the Wireless interface protocals of the third-generation mobile communications. It integrates the advantages of CDMA, TDMA, and FDMA technology, and is also a mobile communication technology with large system capacity, high spectrum efficiency and anti-interference capability. TD-SCDMA adopts smart antenna, Combined Detection, synchronous CDMA, software radio, low chip rate, multi-slot, variable spreading system, adaptive power adjustment and other advanced technologies.SDL, witch has been widely used in the telecommunications field, is the specification and description language recommended by CCITT. SDL is implemented in the software development process by standardizing the application of the system specification. It also used in researching the high-level protocals of 3G terminal.Firstly this paper simply introduces the key technologies, the backgrounds and advantages of TD-SCDMA, and comprehensivly analyzes the basic functions of the TD-SCDMA terminals. Then the RLC transmission mechanisms is analyzed and simulated using SDL. And the protocol conformance test is also introduced.Finally, the implemention of RLC AM transmission mechanism by SDL and TTCN is researched. The tool of Telelogic AB Tau, named SDL and TTCN Suite 3.4 is used, which has the functions of simulation, development and test. It can fully satisfy the need of TD-SCDMA UE conformance testing and development. Based on this, the paper finally descripts the implementation of the AM transmission mechanism based on SDL, and discusses the future word of this research.
