More and more attentions are paid to industry fields including automatic control system for recent years and also a lot of academic institutions and researchers are committing themselves to set up the standard of safety evaluation for automatic control system. So it's significant to push the standard to be established. The theory study and simulation were done about the safety evaluation for automation system in this paper. It means a lot for academic and application.Based on comprehensive analysis for the intentional risk of automatic control system, the fault tree analysis concludes the fault tree of EO control system and calculates the least muster of fault which makes qualitative analysis for the possibility of system fault. Then we can avoid the risk as possible as we can. Also the paper summarizes a formula improved to calculate the key parameter of component and gets a quantitative result which can be used in analysis later. The fuzzy integrative evaluation can analyze the system, using the key parameter of component, and then conclude an quantitative analysis for safety level of system. Another part of this paper is to establish a simulation platform of automatic control system based on FF fieldbus in Matlab/Simulink. We can view it intuitively about the state transition and running of whole system in Matlab/Simulink. The possibilities of fault are simulated and analyzed by this platform.This paper comprehensively makes a study of safety evaluation of automatic control system by analysis, evaluation and simulation. Also there is a conclusion about how to improve the safety level of control system. This approach is new and will promote the development of safety evaluation for automatic control system.
