Soft Accomplishment Of Access Stratums RRC Protocol In 3G (WCDMA System) Mobile Terminal Equipment Protocol Stack

Unless providing traditional voice data service,supporting multi-media and multi-rate services is one of the most special features in 3G mobile system. So there must be a module to control and manage the radio resource according to different services. In the WCDMA system, the Radio Resource Control (RRC) stratum is the highest layer of access stratum. Furthermore, RRC offers the services which need for upper layers (non-access stratum) while controls and schemes the lower layers (PHY, MAC, RLC). Therefore, the research and realize of RRC protocol in order to carry out various services is an important issue. For another, communication protocol is the necessary basic to communication successfully. Protocol stacks soft which next to physical layer soft is the nerve center of mobile phone. Protocol stacks soft controls the signaling system while affecting the holistic capability of mobile phone directly. Access stratum protocol is the bottom of Protocol stacks. So rearching access stratum protocol would be scientific significant, and realizing the protocol stacks would have great commercial worth. And RRC protocol, the most import part of Access stratum protocol, is researched in this paper; RSR sub soft module is come true in this paper addition.The paper firstly gives a introduction of WCDMA system. Because RAN in the WCDMA system is very different than before, for another, RRC is both in Radio Access Network (RAN) and UE, we must pay most attention to Uu interface protocol specification in WCDMA system.Then this paper researches 3G mobile terminal soft platform and RRC protocol specification. After the complete comprehend of RRC protocol model, RRC States and State Transitions, RRC protocol specification, we design the RRC soft module. In our sought, the function of RRC is divided into RSR,RDS,RCM,RBC,RCS,RMM,RSR,RMC sub soft module to come true.The most important of this paper is designing and accomplishing RCS sub soft module, because one of my work is development and maintenance the RCS sub soft module. Then we had test our mobile terminal equipment protocol stack, this is the second important part of my paper. At last, we show our RRC good functions via describing the test result of calling process in WCDMA system origin by user equipment. Meanwhile, RRC protocol had been come true.
