Research And Realization Of RRC Layer Protocol Of WCDMA Protocol Stack Based On Windows CE.NET

From the first generation of cellular mobile communication system to the second, till nowaday 2.5G and 3G, the worldwide mobile communication network has changed a lot. Until the end of the year 2002, the number of mobile users all over the world had broken through the 1 billion mark and reached 1.171 billion. And in the year 2004, it had exceeded 1.5 billion. Nowadays, the mobile communication has more users than the fixed sets and becomes the most popular communication method. As one of the important standards of 3G, WCDMA has attracted a lot of attention.The main topic of this dissertation is the research of software development of RRC layer of WCDMA protocol. In the situation of secret and lack of information, it presents the realization scheme of RRC layer software, describes the realization method based on procedure in detail and put forward the testing method.Firstly, the dissertation introduces the development status in quo of mobile communication and WCDMA inside and outside of our country. Then it introduces Windows CE.NET embedded OS which is the software development environment and the IDE Platform Builder. And then it describes the structure of system, process, thread and the attemper mechanism in detail. After that it introduces 3GPP WCDMA protocol Release 99 and deeply analyzes RRC layer and the relative protocols.As the main work, this dissertation presents the development and realization method of RRC layer software. It decribes the holistic design and realization scheme of the software first, then emphasizes the flow charts of receiving system information, paging, RRC connection establishment and RRC connection release. After that it deeply discusses the main ideas and algorithms of the software, including primitive, message queue, multithread and timer. In the end, it presents two methods of testing, including block testing and whole testing, and mainly describes the testing method, testing environment and testing results of block testing.The research of WCDMA protocol software in this dissertation is tentative and it provides the base of latter reaearch and development.
