This dissertation mainly studies intelligent on-line monitoring technologies and system design for predicting state of health and calculating state of charge of valve regulated acid battery (VRLAB) which working in back-up mode.Valve regulated lead acid batteries are widely used in back-up power supply systems. The reliability of battery play key rules to the safety and stability of computer systems, telecommunication systems, electric power systems, petrochemical reaction equipment and other important situation. As the VRLAB is a complex electrochemical system with sealed technologies, it is impossible to test directly by observe the plate and test the electrolyte density, or to calculate the accurate state by normal data analysis method. So, the VRLAB on-line monitoring technologies are the key to improve the power systems reliability. How to develop valid intelligent monitoring system becomes a focused project for worldwide researchers and big name power supply systems manufactures.The internal resistance of VRLAB changes with the battery structure, chemical and physical performance. Internal resistance testing technologies are widely used to determinate the battery performance. The relative research works are conducted in the beginning. And also it provides the practical means for testing the impedance of battery by using phase lock-in amplifying circuit, improving the accuracy and anti disturbance ability when testing on line. It can acquire stable micro Ohm data from large capacity of VRLAB. Basing on the field data analysis and the electrochemistry of VRLAB, the adaptive neural fuzzy inference system is used for battery SOC and SOH modeling. Simulated results and experimental results show the advantages of the new technique. At last, this paper emphasizes the characteristics of the hardware and software, which included the hardware of main control, sub control of MSP430, common mode voltage testing module, internal resistance testing module, and the software of design thought, Structure technological process, CAN bus etc.
