Design And Implementation Of Network Configuration Management System Based On SNMP

With increased power and versatility, today's computer networks are becoming used for an ever-growing number of diverse applications, and more new services and users are added to the networks. Furher, the network structures are now very complex and diverse. The network management system can grow up the quality of network service and the performance of network, so its development is an important factor which influences the network's development.In our country, application of network management is lagged behind other nations, and many network management systems we used are purchased from other countries. So I bring forward that we must develop our allodial network configuration management productions adopting self-development manner. It can not only grow up the safety of sysytem, but also reduce our expenditure in the object.The SNMP and CMIP are two primary network management protocols. After we analyzed the advantage of which, we decided that the network configuration management system should be designed basing on SNMP. Moreover, the paper describes different structure of system, some new technologyment of network management and shows the reason why we choice the self-development manner and the C/S system.The network configuration management system is an important part composed the network management system. The paper divides configuration system into four function modules: equipment state test module; configuration info of equipment; the backup of equipment config data; obtain the network topology. This paper describes the protocol of ICMP and designs the flow which can do the function. And it shows the development of functions that obtain the configuration info of the network equipment by SNMP protocol. In the same time, the paper describes the theory of TFTP and designs the flow of back up equipement config data's function. In the end, it brings a better arithmetic to obtain the network topology.The paper describes the technology criterion and the flow of design in the development process, and completes the key function in the system. It finishes the development of system injunction class by coding the functions. This is good base for the system extending. In the end, the paper shows some codes and the data of test.
