Network configuration management with responsibility for monitoring and managing the configuration status of network is one function module of network management system, and it provides services such as raw data, automatic topology discovery, and communication. It is the foundation of other management function modules. According to NGOSS proposal, this tesis designs and implements a network configuration system by Web Services architecture.NGOSS is a standard architecture specification proposed by TMF, which is used to direct the construction of telecom OSS, and it presents a set of construction Frameworks and methods for developing plug-and-play OSS Components . Based on the analysis and the study of NGOSS theory and principles, the autor chooses Web Services in the implementation of NGOSS technical neutral comonents. On the base of studing and analyzing NGOSS and Web Services, the paper proves the theory. Then the thesis presents the design and the implementation of network configuration management system using Web Services and based on the principles of NGOSS. In the process of implementing system, the thesis develops an algorithem for automation of topology discovery and the SNMP operations. One important work in the thesis is the encapsulation of NGOSS Component with various granularity as Web Services. Different function modules are encapsulated into Web services with different granularity, and each service is a component which from complete specific function. These components can be invoked by any application supporting Web Services architecture. Components can be merged to provide the specific service, so the whole system can be served as a large component invoked by other applications and merged into other applications, so that the plug-and-play can be implemented. Finally the thesis tests the system using a simulation network. The result proves that the system has the characteristics of flexibility, scalability and integrity, and it can be integrated into network management system easily in the future.
