On The People's Daily News Values Of Natural Disasters Since The Beginning Of Reform And Opening Up

In the history of the development of human society, natural disasters are inevitable, therefore, the news reports on natural disasters also exists.This essay, based on content analysis of the People's Daily news of natural disasters from 1980 to 2006 , combined with an analysis of some cases to study how the mainstream media for natural disasters in China , so as to find out their news values.In this paper, the study found that since the beginning of reform and opening up, the People's Daily reported on natural disasters have little changed:0n the one hand, pay attention to government behavior and publicize the combating spirit has been the main theme that it insisted securely , on the other hand, the practice has gradually shown great importance to natural disaster, objective account of natural disasters, rational thinking disasters, concerned about the fate of peson and so on. According to the analysis of the practice , this paper believes that since the reform and opening up over the past 20 years, the People's Daily News values of natural disasters changed slowly , that the responsibility of the government, credible army and other core content has been extended, but with the development of society, admitting the objective and rational, collectivism spirit and humane care etc.The thesis from chapter 5 to Chapter 7, respectively, from the traditional culture, media management system, the perspective of academic exploration and technological advances, discussed the reasons for changes in news values.
