With the development of Internet and continuous innovation of new media technology,new media has replaced traditional media as the main way for people to obtain information.However,in the face of a large number of new media and content,what is the audience's engagement and what factors are related to the audience's engagement.News engagement as a special study on the news media and news content theory is particularly important.,it is worth studying.However,the concept of news engagement is developed from the concept of "media involvement".Based on the previous studies of scholars and the microscopic nature of this study,this paper defined the news engagement as:the news engagement,which is the audience's concern for a news item Degree,the strength of input is the main body of the devoted time and effort.Can be divided into: the news media engagement and news content engagement,you can use the length of time,frequency,participation(like;forward,comment;forward + comment)to measure.This study uses the engagement of the college students to the People's Daily(MicroBlog?WeChat and News APP)as the research object.It uses interviews and content analysis to refine the hypothesis that the media and content may be related to the college student's news engagement,and then adopts a questionnaire survey to collect data and perform statistical analysis.Finally,the author get the following conclusions: media reputation,media influence,media authority,media timeliness and media functions are all related to college students' News Media Engagement.the content of information and college students' relevance,content composition,and information language style are related to college student News Content Engagement.Based on the research of macroeconomic effects of the predecessors,this study selected a specific media and an audience to conduct research and proved the factors related to the group's engagement in order to attract media and enhance the audience's engagement from the media itself and content.
