People's Daily Reports On Ai Issues And Optimization Strategies

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology,news media has become an important window for the public to understand the new technology.In China,both the traditional media represented by the People's Daily and the new media represented by the Micro Blog and We Chat have made a lot of reports on this.Among them,People's Daily,as an authoritative and widely spread official mainstream media in China,is representative and typical in its reports on artificial intelligence,and the news reports it produces are also worthy discussing.This paper selects the report on artificial intelligence of People's Daily(1956-2019)as the research object,and comprehensively uses literature research method,content analysis method,text analysis method and other research methods to dig and analyze it at horizontal and vertical levels respectively.Judging from the overall coverage of this issues,the People's Daily has its own characteristics in terms of number,form and content.In terms of the number of reports,the number of early reports is relatively small,which has exploded in recent years.In the form of reports,it involves a large number of layouts,multiple news genres,mainly uses medium-length reports and less news pictures.In terms of report content,science and technology are the most common frames,and the frames of industrial economy has emerged in recent years,and general reports on artificial intelligence and vertical subdivisions are same important.Reports are mainly positive,and negative reports occasionally appear.Scientific research units,experts and scholars,enterprises and party and government departments are the most important sources.From the perspective of the development of this issue,because the actual level of development of artificial intelligence,the national policy support and the law of the People's Daily reports of artificial intelligence,the People's Daily reports of artificial intelligence has experienced the aphasia period(1956-1978),difficult start period(1979-1992),stable stage(1993-2012)and the outbreak period(2013-2019),but the main influence factor is different at different periods.At present,there are the following problems in People's Daily's report on artificial intelligence.People's Daily adheres to the party newspaper's reporting thought of positive propaganda,and lacks the spirit of reflection and the consciousness of crisis.Reports on the ethical risks of artificial intelligence are not scientific enough.In the future,People's Daily can improve its AI reporting from the following aspects: adhering to the balance principle of news reporting and respecting for public discourse;Changing the bias of report,reducing the color of propaganda,paying more attention to the in-depth report with strong professional;We should give priority to interpretation and prediction,rationally treat the risk issues of artificial intelligence,and give full play to the role of media in promoting the development of science and technology.
