Study Of The Adult Tendency In TV Programs Designed For Children

This thesisis consider the adult tendency in TV programs designed for children. The objects that this thesis investigated are some TV programs aimed at children from six years old to nine years old that presented in CCTV children channel such as tree of knowledge, big windmill, pursuit in green, grown up online and also two cartoons—stray records of three hair and seven knight leaded by red cat and blue rabbit—are included. The methods that this thesis adopted are analysis of text and observation through experiment. Based on the delicated analysis of adult tendency in these programs, some solutions are brought out in this thesis.Based on previous study this thesis introduces the representation of TV into the analysis of adult tendency in children's program. Preceding to the analysis the boundary of adult tendency must be completed firstly and this is also the keystone of this thesis defferent to other studies.In frame of Rousseau's "children view" and Bowei's "principal part of children", the adult tendency is defined as follows: expressions and contents that not suitable to children's development and psychology in broadcasting of children's program. In detail it can be list as: (1) Programs that beyond children's mind such as ideology, action and logic that only belong to adult. (2) Domesticating children and performing before screen is seriously that imposed by programmer and director. (3) Exposurement of adults's intimity and surreptitiousness. Adults's intimity such as eroticism and violence,dicord and pitfall,greed and cheat,disguise and seeking exciteness and adventure, will not benefit to children's health of body and mind as a result of programmer and director's incomprehension and disrespect of children. The analysis is evolved in content and modality and it is clear the adult tendency in TV program have negative effect on children's growing. After wathing these programs the children will imitate nonconsciously and there will be some vacacy in their growing because the early exposure of adult's world to them. And it is well known it will do harm to children's growing.It is necessary to cure the chronic illness of adult tendency for institution of TV aimed at children. After presenting the character of children and children's program, causes of adult tendency in children's program amd the harm that they bring to the children, this thesis show that it is better to increase the entertaiment of children's program, build scientific rule in our mind, and look at the world from the sight of children. It will be authors' expection and appreciation that this thesis can bring up some new points to solving the adult tendency in children's TV programs.
