Study On Interviewing Note Of Nanfang Weekend

In the tide of media reform in 1980s, Nanfang Weekend stood out and was popular in China for its in-depth reports and its courage to criticize. Since Nanfang Weekend has attached much emphasis on its people interview, the number of articles and pages on people interview is higher than other similar newspapers. This paper makes analysis on people interview of Nanfang Weekend from three perspectives, which are interview contents, interviewee and interviewer. Through analysis, this paper draws the conclusions as follows: First of all, as far as the interview topic, Nanfang Weekend pays great attention to two themes, culture and reform and does reports from the phenomenon itself, the system and the theory. Considering the balance skills, Nanfang Weekend makes balance by interviewing multiple targets or by adding background. Second, interviewees, whom Nanfang Weekend has interviewed, are mainly politicians, business leaders, scholars and the arts elite. As conscientious intellectuals, they support reform and innovation. Nanfang Weekend expresses its stand by giving the elite their discourse power. Third, Nanfang Weekend boasts a large number of journalists who are able to cover all fields of topics. They are good at questioning when they are interviewing the government officials, the controversial figures and both sides of argument. Their questions mainly follow three kind of structures, progression, parallel and integration. Nanfang Weekend, as the representative of the conscientious elite that support reform, is trying to enlighten the public with the elite value.
