As a regional newspaper, "Nanfang Dushi Bao" 's growing has been concerned by publicity. The newspaper editorial, as an important part of its brand, has become the object of study by the industry field and academic field. By analyzing the "Nanfang Dushi Bao" editorial's using in vocabulary, sentence and rhetorical features , this article summed up the newspaper editorial's unqiue patterns in comments from other media, explored the medium context of the newspaper editorial discourse. Based on these studies, the article hopes to understand how does the editorial discourse reflect the newspaper's views and intentions. Through analysis we have found, the editorial on "Nanfang Dushi Bao" heaviliy used current vocabulary, academic language, classical Chinese vocabulary words and expressions words. By organizing a variety of sentences with different functions, selecting the appropriate analogy, dual, parallelism and other rhetorical means, the editoirial uses different features of language in commenting different types of topics, On political and economic issues, the editorial comments use language in serious thought and rational questioning. On public events issues, editorial comments select words in earnest faith and full of emotion. These features together constitute the overall editoriallanguage style——rational but not bland, form the distinct and unique speech system.Whether the critical analysis on micro incident issues, or the overall grasp on macro society and public opinions, the editorial language choice of "Nanfang Dushi Bao" always adhere to a constructive attitude and orientation. The active construction and careful setup on discourse show that the enlightment of newspaper as responsible media, and also fully reflect the social responsibility of media in this socialist country.
