Huge data and high real-time requirement are the features of modern radar signal, which determines that the system processing radar signal is a complicated system and the job for designing such a system is a difficult and long-time work. For the trends of radar signal processing system are modularization, standardization and generalization, this paper deals with the design of multi-purpose radar signal processing board based on standard bus which hardware can be flexibly expanded and software can be easily programmed. The Expandable Processing Unit processing the radar signal data which is consisted with DSP and FPGA modules. In this paper we have paid much attention on the design of standard bus. Many topics on the PCI and USB2.0 bus have been discussed in this paper including the selecting of the bus chip, the hardware designing and also the WDM driver designing.
