Radar echo simulation technology has been widely used in radar system adjustment, performance assessment and equipment maintenance. It is lower cost but more flexible as compared to the field testing. However, mass-data computing, large-scale communicating and real-time processing make it difficult to implement. P4G4 board can be a good solution to the problem above, which provides a wide data bandwidth and a strong signal-processing capability.The multi-purpose radar echo simulation technology is researched here. To accomplish the multi-purpose radar echo simulation system, we focus on the development of software algorithms to accomplish the management and control in this real-time echo generating process, which includes radar targets and environments modeling and programming, echo data generating and outputting by the radar beat, etc. The basic radar echo theory is first analyzed in this thesis. Then 4 types of target-track,3 types of echo-signal models, co-channel asynchronous interference and 2 types of clutter-distribution models are built, and 6 modularized structures are designed. We put emphasis on software programming, which is verified to have achieved expected results with 4 specific applications in the following. Finally a hardware solution is presented, implementation of the multi-purpose radar echo simulator based on the P4G4 board, at the end of the thesis.
