Research Of Smart Transducer Based On IEEE1451.2 Standard

Networked smart sensor came into being with the development of computer technology, sensor technology, and communication technology. It has already become a hotspot in the region of sensor research. At the present time, there exists an outstanding problem when people construct networked smart sensor based on field bus. That is how to realize interoperability and exchangeability of various sensors from different manufacturers since each manufacturer has his own sensor interface. This problem makes system integration complex and reduces the maintainability of system, and thus clearly increases the investment cost and venture of sensor manufacturers and users. In order to slove this problem, IEEE and NIST published a series of IEEE1451 interface standards for networked smart senor since 1997. By IEEE1451 standards the sensor's design and manufacture are independent of field bus, and the incompatibility between various sensor manufactures is conquered.By far, there has been much research on networked smart sensor based on IEEE1451 standards abroad. Some American company like TMI,HP,NI and some abroad colleges and academes have producted a serious of networked smart sensor nodes supporting IEEE1451 standards. A part of home colleges and academes are beginning to pay attention to this standard and trace its research. With the support of the project provided by Science and Technology Department of Jilin Provence, this thesis gave a futher and comprehensive research on IEEE1451.2 standards and developed some typical smart transducers based on IEEE1451.2 standards.
