The LED panel is one of the important media, has gradually become an important part ofChina’s electronic information industry. With the development of display technology, the largevolume of data to be handle, the high demand of system frequency, the size of the system isgrowing, requirements of the control system continues to improve.This paper analyzed the principle of LED color display, the overall structure of the LED display controlcard system was given, and the asynchronous LED penal control card scheme based on LPC2214was provided,including the hardware and software design.Accoring to the limitations on traditional display system basde on8or16-bit microcontrolleras the core technology in computing speed, memory capacity, storage space and communicationlimitations, this paper selected LPC2214as the key chip, FLASH, SRAM as the memory, CPLDchip is the scan control unit; via Ethernet or serial communication with the host computer, thecontent send by host computer was stored in the memory chip, and the store contents was finalshown on the LED screen, it can play automatically; in order to improve the efficiency of thesecurity and development, shorten the development cycle to ensure that the system does notcollapse but also self-healing capacity, and improve the reliability of the control card, the softwaresystem appling an embedded operating system μC/OS-Ⅱ.Test results show that the asynchronous LED display control card designed by this paper workswell, the system can be maintained conveniently, it realized the asynchronous LED panel controlcard based on the LPC2214, the control card display clarity, good viewing, and display area, highrefresh rate.
