As the development of computer science and communication technology,sensor becomes more and more important in capturing data and getting information.One of the direction of development is network smart sensor.Through binding the sensor with a micro-processor,and connecting them by field bus,the network smart sensor is capable of sampling,processing and data transferring and information exchanging.As different kinds of field bus comes up one after another,the problem of compatibility comes up:the interface of different field bus for smart sensor is incompatible.And that results series of problem of system integration and maintenance.In response to industry's need for a set of standardized sensor bus interfaces,the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers(IEEE) Instrumentation and Measurement Society's Technical Committee on Sensor Technology has sponsored the development of a suite of smart transducer interface standards for sensors and actuators,known as the IEEE 1451.This standard enables the inter-compatibility among different network smart sensor produced by different vendor,and implementss the inter-operation and inter-change among different smart sensors.After a deep discussion of the IEEE1451 standard,this dissertation presents a implementation of the Wireless Transducer Interface Module(WTIM) based on IEEE1451.0 and IEEE1451.5.In the softerware a set of common functionality, commands,and Transducer Electronic Data Sheets(TEDS) are defined strictly according to the family of IEEE 1451 smart transducer interface standards.It makes the software highly transplantable,and easy to maintain.According to specific communication media,IEEE1451.5 defines a wireless interface for sensors.It specifies radio-specific protocols for this wireless interface.It defines communication modules that connect the WTIM and the NCAP using the radio-specific protocols.It also defines the TEDS for the radio-specific protocols.The paper analyses several common wireless communication protocols and at last chooses Zigbee protocol as the communication protocol for IEEE 1451.5.Based on that,the specific implementtation of the wireless transducer interface and command is presented.All the required TEDS MetaTEDS,TransducerChannelTEDS,PHYTEDS, UserTransducerNameTEDS and an optional TEDS are made.When the WTIM boot up,it sends a request to the NCAP for joining the network by the Zigbee,and then the relative TEDS.The NCAP identifies the information and allows the joining.After that the NCAP and the WTIM can exchange data and information through the inferface and commands defined.At last,the whole function of the WTIM is tested,the smart tranducer and the entire system can work as expected.
