Digital TV is the third generation TV after black and white TV and color TV. From now on, the current TV broadcasting and receiving standard will be mainly adopted for some long time in our country. In this stage, Digital Processing TV (hereafter referred to as"DPTV") is invented by mixing digital technology with the nowadays analog TV receiver to make great progress on the definition and stabilization of the image while not make any changes to the TV broadcasting and receiving standard. DPTV has the capability to receive analog video signals, make digital processing and then turn into analog signals again, it's the mid-product in the transition period from analog TV to digital TV. It's also the dominant product in this stage. So, DPTV is an important product driving our native TV industry during current transition period.The purpose of this paper is to research and implement of the DPTV video subsystem Hardware based on STMicroelectronics CTV100/CTV120 platform,which we introduce is just for leading us on the right way to digital TV. STV3500/STV3600, the core of CTV100/CTV120 platform, is an Integrated Up-Converter with 32-bit CPU Core with Video Enhancers and Bitmap On-Screen Display. The CTV100/CTV120 platform narrows the gap between analog TV and digital TV. The development of CTV100/CTV120 platform is a good foundation of future DTV development.The hardware structure,the realizing principle and the PCB design method of CTV100/CTV120 platform are described in detail in this paper.
