| The Digital Processing TV( DPTV ) is the transitional product in the course of TV development from analog TV to digital TV. In the coming several years, DPTV will still be dominate in domestic TV market.CTV100 DPTV platform is the fire-new TV solution which STMicroelectronics Inc.(ST) provided in 2002, and this platform represents the technical developing direction of this field. The core of CTV100 is STV2310 and STV3500: STV2310 can receive all analog TV signals, identify the video standard automatically, convert analog signal to digital signal and process the digital signal etc.; STV3500 acts as the supplement of the STV2310, it has a ST20 32-bit CPU core inside it , and can receive the digital signal from STV2310 through D1 interface. What's more, STV3500 has many functions, such as up-converter, zoom, picture improvement and so on. In addition, STV3500 can be used to provide the fire-new wonderful TV menu because of its own OSD generator and Picture Compositor(mixing four planes).This dissertation introduces the embedded system design(software and hardware) of DPTV based-on the CTV100 platform, OS20 embedded OS, the theory and implementing methods about how to digitize and process the TV signal, controlling the front-end ,managing TV programs,driver module coding, total debug and the speciality about how to develop the embedded system in detail. Also, the paper presents a new GUI technology applying for embedded operating system (named PEG), and how to design the TV menu in the CTV100 solution by this new technology specially.This dissertation is engaged in researching and developing TV product based-on CTV100 platform from ST and keeps ahead in the country, now we have developed the functional specimen. Therefore, the dissertation acts a promoting role in expanding this new DPTV solution in the domestic TV market.
