The traditional teaching mode is that teachers teach and students learn. It's advantageous to teach and accumulate knowledge and to organize classroom teaching in this way while it restricts students to exert and inquire. Students feel dull when they learn and mechanically memory knowledge of liberal arts such as politics and history. The important and specific target of new national curriculum reform is to change the present learning method and encourage students to inquire while studying. National curriculum standard of each subject emphasizes that inquiry-based learning mode is an important way of study. And WebQuest just satisfies it.This paper makes a conclusion on the study history and current situation of WebQuest from a large quantity of records. The author designs and exploits WebQuest study community based on her understanding about it after summarizing former conclusions. After the software is put into practice in school, some valuable data are got. The author makes some conclusions by analyzing and discussing these data. First, students can learn knowledge that they can not get in traditional teaching mode. Second, WebQuest study mode can effectively stimulate students'interest. Finally, WebQuest study mode will have a profound and lasting influence on students'learning. Therefore WebQuest teaching mode fully indicates its benefits to combine network teacher and students together to learn. The network is taken as the carrier, teacher the leadership, and the students the main body. Teachers also can know the students'learning from these empirical data.This paper also discusses technology of web------Ajax, used on the research ing and developing of the communities. Using Ajax technology achieved functional of the search suggest and message boards.
